Woman Killed in Bedford Hit-and-Run Accident

Hit-and-run accidents are always a serious problem, and one of the reasons is that not knowing the identity of the driver makes it difficult to deal with the administration of justice.  Tragically, a pedestrian was killed over the weekend in a hit-and-run accident in Bedford, and police are actively seeking evidence that will help them identify and ultimately apprehend the offending driver.

According to police, this Bedford hit-and-run accident occurred in the early morning hours of Sunday just after 2 a.m.  The woman, who was identified as Tonya Page, 29, of Watauga, was found along the side of the Airport Freeway near Brown Trail in Bedford.  Investigators determined that she was killed with a blunt force trauma to the head that was apparently caused by a moving vehicle.  Police are asking for anyone who may have information regarding this incident to contact them to issue a statement.

Texas Car Accident Statistics

First, we’d like to send our most sincere condolences to the family and friends of Ms. Page.  To lose a life at this young age and in this violent manner is nothing short of shocking and tragic.  In addition, this Bedford hit-and-run accident will only add to the overall statistics regarding Texas car accidents.  Every year, more than 175,000 people are injured and more than 3,400 people are killed in these occurrences.

Texas Wrongful Death Lawyers

While it will be difficult to administer justice until a driver is found, it seems that more often than not the driver in hit-and-run accidents is ultimately apprehended.  If or when this occurs, the family of Ms. Page will likely be able to bring a Texas wrongful death lawsuit against the driver regardless of the type of criminal charges he or she will face.  If such a case is successful, it could bring damages that compensate the family for medical, funeral and burial expenses as well as lost income and loss of companionship.

Police Cruiser Rear-Ends Man in Fatal Dallas Car Accident

People who drive understand that anyone can make a mistake at any time, but most would assume that police officers driving in cruisers would be able to avoid collisions, especially when visual warnings are clearly on display.  Tragically, one man paid the ultimate price for some sort of mistake by a police officer when he was rear-ended and killed in a fatal Dallas car accident.

According to authorities, the latest fatal Dallas car accident occurred on Thursday morning at approximately 1 a.m. when when 59-year-old Terry Glover’s Jeep stalled on in the 7600 block of South Polk Street near Camp Wisdom Road.  Mr. Glover had his hazard lights on, but for some reason a police cruiser being driven by 27-year-old Adam Stucki did not see the vehicle.  He plowed into the back of the Jeep, sending it through a metal fence and into a nearby front yard.  Mr. Glover was rushed to the hospital but died a few hours later.

Texas Car Accident Statistics

First, we’d like to offer our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Glover.  To die in such a sudden and violent way is truly tragic, and the shock and grief that those close to him will certainly endure will be difficult to overcome.  Unfortunately, this fatal Dallas car accident will only add to the overall statistics regarding Texas car accidents.  Every year, more than 3,000 people are killed in these occurrences.

Dallas Wrongful Death Lawyer

It seems relatively clear that something went wrong in the police cruiser before it hit the Jeep.  The officers in that vehicle were on their way to a non-emergency call and had their lights flashing but did not have the sirens blaring.  If the family of Mr. Glover decides to file a Texas wrongful death lawsuit in response to this fatal Dallas car accident, it would involve additional procedural steps given the public nature of the driver who hit him.

Bizarre Multi-Vehicle Dallas Car Accident Kills Two, Injures Two Others

Many Texas car accidents are relatively straightforward in terms of how they occur – one driver makes a mistake, causing the accident that leads to the injury of another driver.  The events that led to a multi-vehicle, multiple-death and injury Dallas car accident on Thursday were anything but cut-and-dried.  However, the tragic result remains – two people have lost their lives.

According to police, the latest fatal Dallas car accident occurred on Thursday night when a group of motorcyclists were moving in a northbound direction on Interstate 45 near Loop 12 in southern Dallas.  One of the bikers blew out a tire and crashed, and the rest of the bikers thought that a truck was responsible for the Dallas motorcycle accident.  As a group, they turned around, headed in a southbound direction in the northbound lanes and surrounded the truck driver who stopped in response.  He attempted to put on his hazard lights, but they were not functioning at the time.  A few seconds later, two people riding in a Buick rear-ended the stopped truck and were killed.

The people who lost their lives were identified as 36-year-old Johnnatha Hamilton of Dallas and Derrick Finch.  After the accident between the sedan and the truck, the motorcyclists who had surrounded the truck fled the scene before police arrived.  Two other people, one motorcyclist and another passenger in the Buick were injured and transported to a nearby hospital.

Texas Car Accident Statistics

First, we’d like to extend our condolences to the families of the people who were killed.   This strange scene may seem too bizarre for reality, but nothing is more real than losing two lives in a matter of seconds.  This situation will only add to the overall statistics regarding Texas car accidents.  Every year, more than 3,000 people are killed in these occurrences.

The Colony Car Accident Claims the Life of Teen

There are many lessons that anyone who is learning to drive must understand.  One of those lessons is that when the weather is nasty, especially in such a way that it can affect the roads, a driver must slow down a bit and use extreme caution.  Tragically, one teen-aged girl paid the ultimate price for a mistake that’s being linked to inexperience when she was killed in a one-car accident in The Colony.

The latest fatal Texas car accident occurred on Thursday afternoon at approximately 3 p.m.  16-year-old Alexandra Hays was driving her Volkswagen on the Sam Rayburn Tollway in The Colony.  For some reason, Ms. Hays lost control of her vehicle and it slammed into a guide sign in the center median.  Her passenger, Nicole LeGrow of Plano, was killed in the crash, and police stated that the vehicle was moving at a very high rate of speed for the conditions.  Ms. Hays was transferred to a nearby hospital in serious condition.

Texas Car Accident Statistics

First, we’d like to extend our thoughts to the family and friends of Ms. LeGrow.  To lose a life at such an early stage is tragic to say the least.  We also hope that Ms. Hays is able to recover from her injuries.  Unfortunately, this situation will only add to the statistics regarding Texas car accidents.  Every year, more than 400,000 such accidents take place, leading to 175,000 injuries and more than 3,000 deaths.

Dallas Wrongful Death Lawyers

It is well-established in the law that drivers owe a duty of care to their passengers.  When this duty is breached and that breach leads to injuries or worse, drivers can and generally are found liable for the damages caused.  While more facts would need to be determined in this case, those in general who are harmed by drivers can file a Texas personal injury lawsuit.  If such a claim was successful, the plaintiff could be awarded damages to compensate for losses sustained in the Texas car accident.

However, these determinations should be made with the help of Dallas personal injury lawyers who have spent many years fighting for the rights of those wronged.  Contact The Parker Law Firm today to schedule a free initial consultation.

Head-On Greenville Car Accident Kills Both Drivers

Almost every serious Texas car accident involves a violent collision of some sort, but perhaps the most forceful type of collision in terms of basic physics is the head-on collision.  This is usually the case because one or both of the drivers does not foresee the collision for even a fraction of a second, thereby providing no time to take evasive measures to lower the amount of force generated.  Tragically, two people died in a head-on Greenville car accident early Sunday morning.

According to police, the latest fatal Texas car accident occurred at approximately 5 a.m. yesterday on on the I-30 frontage road near Loop 315.  A 1985 Chevrolet Caprice was moving in an eastward direction on the frontage road when it slammed into a 1986 Chevrolet Blazer that was moving in the opposite direction.  Aside from the two fatalities, a passenger in the Chevrolet was taken to a nearby hospital by helicopter.  The names of those involved were not released so that family members could be notified.

Texas Car Accident Statistics

First, we’d like to extend our condolences to the families and friends of those people who were killed.  Losing lives in this manner is truly tragic, and we hope those close to the drivers are able to somehow overcome their shock and grief.  We’d also like to express our hope that the person who was injured is able to recover safely and fully.  This latest fatal Texas car accident will also add to the statistics kept in regards to these occurrences.  Every year, more than 400,000 Texas car accidents take place, injuring approximately 250,000 people and killing more than 3,000.

Texas Personal Injury Lawyers

Police have yet to identify a cause for this Texas car accident and have not identified the party at fault.  However, it’s clear that someone made a mistake when a head-on collision of this type occurs.  If those wrongfully harmed in this situation decide to bring a Texas personal injury lawsuit against the at-fault driver, damages could be awarded for all costs incurred as well as lost income and pain and suffering.

These types of situations necessitate the help of Texas personal injury lawyers who have years of experience in helping people who have been harmed in Texas car accidents obtain justice.  Contact The Parker Law Firm today at 817-503-9200 to schedule a free initial consultation.

Dallas Auto Accident Injures One on Heels of Police Chase

People can act in a negligent or a reckless manner when they are behind the wheel, and acting in this way can give rise to civil liability under almost any circumstances.  This is true even if someone is being chased by police, which was what was occurring prior to a Dallas auto accident that brought an end to the motorized period of a police chase this week.  The collision between the suspect vehicle and another motorist was a head-on collision that left the motorist who was not involved with the chase injured.

The latest Dallas auto accident occurred just after 1 a.m. when a driver was being chased by police through town.  He attempted to enter I-35 East via an off-ramp that leads interstate drivers onto Beckley Avenue.  The chase began when the man was weaving through traffic recklessly to the point where police began to pursue the vehicle.  In an attempt to evade them, he drove the wrong way on the ramp and collided head-on with another vehicle.  The driver fled the scene on foot and was able to evade capture.  The other driver was injured and taken to a nearby hospital.

Texas Auto Accident Statistics

First, we’d like to extend our hopes that the innocent driver who was hit is ultimately able to recover from his injuries.  We also hope that the driver who fled is apprehended, which is more often than not how these cases conclude.  Unfortunately, this latest Dallas auto accident will only add to the overall Texas auto accident statistics.  Every year, there are more than 400,000 such accidents somewhere in the state, leading to almost 250,000 injuries and approximately 3,500 fatalities.

Dallas Auto Accident Lawyers

Not only will this suspect face significant criminal liability if or when he is apprehended, but he could also face significant civil liability if the man who was injured files a Texas personal injury lawsuit.  If the claim is successful, the man could recover damages for property damage, medical expenses, lost income and pain and suffering.  If you or someone you love has been harmed in a collision, you need the help of Dallas auto accident lawyers who have years of experience in holding those responsible for harm accountable.  Contact The Parker Law Firm today at 817-503-9200 to schedule a free initial consultation.

Texas Gas Explosion Kills One Worker, Injures Several Others

The gas and oil industries are backbones to the local economy, and thousands of workers make their livings by spending their days advancing this overall cause and keeping supplies at a level that meets the high demand of the American public.  Anyone who works in these industries understands that some duties can be dangerous, but that doesn’t mean that workers should expect to attempt to avoid a massive explosion that tears up an entire field.

Tragically, this is what occurred last week.  A gas line exploded violently, killing one worker and injuring at least seven others.  The blast occurred in rural Johnson County about 50 miles southwest of Dallas.  The worker who was ultimately reported as having died was missing immediately after the blast, even though his one-ton truck was overturned and a large piece of equipment was torn off of his truck and thrown for over 200 feet.  Ultimately, his body was discovered when rescue workers were able to move onto the site after intense heat had dissipated.

Parties Involved with the Texas Gas Explosion

As is usually the case with these sorts of disasters, several agencies from the government converged on the scene, including OSHA and the National Transportation Safety Board, which sent an investigator from its Office of Railroad, Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Investigations to the scene.  It’s not known how long an investigation will take, but early suspicions center on whether the gas line, which was underground, was properly marked before crews began to dig holes for utility poles.

The corporate entities involved include Houston-based Enterprise Products Partners LP, which owns the gas line, Waco-based Brazos Electric Cooperative, which hired the sub-contractors who were working on the utility poles and the sub-contractor company, Oklahoma-based C&H Power Line Construction Services.

Texas Wrongful Death Lawyers

We’d first like to extend our most sincere condolences to the family of the worker who was killed and to those who were injured in hopes that they make a swift recovery.  Disasters like these are difficult to overcome for many reasons.  In addition, this situation is quite complicated in terms of how legal rights and options play out, but the family of the worker who was killed could have standing to file a Texas wrongful death lawsuit.  If successful, the case could award damages to the family of the worker for medical, funeral and burial expenses as well as lost income and perhaps loss of companionship.

If you have lost someone you love suddenly, you need to take action by seeking the help of Texas wrongful death lawyers who have years of experience in holding those responsible for these tragedies accountable.  Contact the Parker Law Firm today to schedule a free initial consultation.
